What We Offer

Mirror Installation Guide

Tower Glass (Bournemouth) Ltd provides guidance on the installation of mirrors; however, the responsibility for correct installation lies solely with the installer or contracting company carrying out the work.

Before installing mirrors, the surface must be properly prepared to ensure correct adhesion and long-term stability.

Preparation Requirements

The surface must be cleaned thoroughly using alcohol to remove grease, dust, and contaminants.

The substrate must be completely dust-free before any materials are applied.

The surface should be lightly scuffed where appropriate to improve adhesion.

Installation should be carried out in a clean, dust-free working environment.

Proper surface preparation is essential to ensure adhesives perform correctly and to reduce the risk of mirror failure.

Mirrors must be installed using the correct combination of fixing materials to ensure a safe and secure installation.

Installation Method

Silicone adhesive must not be used as the sole fixing method.

Mirrors must be installed using both high-quality double-sided tape and silicone adhesive.

The double-sided tape provides immediate hold, supporting the mirror while the silicone cures.

Silicone Application

Silicone must be applied evenly across the surface.

Adhesive coverage must reach at least 80% of the mirror backing.

Even coverage helps ensure proper bonding and reduces the risk of movement or failure.

Using the correct combination of materials is essential for safe mirror installation.

Tower Glass (Bournemouth) Ltd provides guidance on mirror installation; however, responsibility for the installation rests solely with the installer or contracting company carrying out the work.

The installer must ensure:

The substrate is suitable for mirror installation.

Correct preparation and fixing methods are followed.

All installation work complies with relevant health and safety standards.

Tower Glass (Bournemouth) Ltd accepts no liability for damage, injury, or product failure caused by incorrect installation, improper use of materials, or deviation from the guidance provided.

By proceeding with installation, the installer or company acknowledges and accepts full responsibility for the safe and correct fixing of mirrors.
